Personally I liked the square crop of thumbnail better. It made me ask "Who/what is she looking at?" It is what made me click on it. Opening the complete image sort of spoiled it for me. Your mileage may vary.
I think I agree. I think the guy ruins the mood of this for me as well. I love her vibe and the lighting though.
