In the Florentine exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum, I studied this painting for so long and knew I wanted to recreate it. Salome was coerced by her mother to demand the execution of John the Baptist and have his head on a platter. She was simply a pawn in a game, and manipulated by someone she trusted. Something we can probably all understand and relate to.
Shoutout to my amazing husband for being so willing to participate. He is the most supportive wonderful person in the world, and all I had to do was show this to him and he was down to be my John.
