Veins Of Metropolis

This photo has a story of its own. Every single time I’ve visited New York City, I’ve tried to capture this exact shot, but I never walked away happy with it. The conditions weren't what I had envisioned, or honestly, I just didn't like them. Four previous trips and nothing to show for it; sure, I took some photos, but they're just sitting there, forgotten in folders on a hard drive.

But it seems like luck was on my side this year. I loved what I was seeing, and I knew that this time, I could get a shot that would actually make me want to sit down and edit. And that’s exactly what happened. I set up my tripod—enduring the grunts of the person accompanying me—and started playing around with the subway lines passing behind me (which made the bridge vibrate) and the flow of traffic, thanks to a traffic light that stopped the cars at just the right moment.

And here is the result.
