Long-billed dowitcher

The long-billed dowitcher is a medium-sized shorebird with a long bill and stocky build, often seen probing mud for food in a "sewing machine" motion. Breeding adults are bright cinnamon below with dark mottled upperparts, while nonbreeding birds are gray overall with a white rump in flight. Image taken McAllen,Texas.
