Sunset at Two Jack Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta.
A passing shower had just moved through, leaving rain curtains glowing in the last light and the lake completely still. I kept the composition simple: four submerged stones anchoring the foreground, the reflection splitting the frame, and the warm sky pulling the eye to the ridgeline.
What drew me here wasn't the peak, it was the water. On calm evenings, Two Jack turns into a window and a mirror at the same time: you see the stones on the lakebed while the mountain floats above them.
This is a handheld focus stack of 3 frames, near stones, mid-water, and mountain, blended in post. When the light is moving fast, travelling light beats setting up.
