Of all the places I expect to find a Blue Heron, this was not it. I was visiting family in my home town of Las Vegas. They live on a golf course and I knew there were some interesting birds living on it. I broke free one evening before sunset and set out. Almost immediately I came across this Blue Heron. He seemed like he was enjoying the last light of the day. Never thought I would see one in Las Vegas let alone at just a perfect time of day. I particularly love the light cast on him as well as the surrounding grass. This was taken with my D850 and 300mm F4 and TC 1.4 Combo.
