I would have loved to have seen you take two exposures, one for the waterfall and a separate photo to capture the fish better and then composite in post.

I never even thought of that. if I could go back and shoot this waterfall again I would love to do that, and I would probably then also be able to brighten up some of the shadows in on the rocks and beside the waterfall.
