Veering into the Mystic

Shot in the Alberta Badlands of southeastern Alberta in 2014. The clouds to the right have a somewhat ghostly and thus mystical presence in this land once dominated by indigenous peoples who engaged with the spirit world and who drove huge herds of Buffalo over cliffs in the area in order to provide for themselves. For me the road symbolizes a veering off of the straight and narrow path of modern western civilization towards greater intimacy with the spirituality that is represented by the clouds sweeping gracefully across the sky.
