Trendporting: from Africa to NYC

A captured moment of a trendsetter teleporting through the streets of New York City following a life-changing experience which she endured in Africa.

This conceptual photograph is part of a series which celebrates African fashion and culture in our modern world.

The photographs were photographically developed in three stages:

1) Photographing the model in Melbourne, Australia (December 2015)
2) Photographing the New York City street in USA (January 2016)
3) Photographing the landscape background in Torquay, Australia (April 2016)

The artwork was designed in six stages:

1) background images were colour-corrected
2) the model retouched in both photographs and added to each background
3) the sunglasses were manipulated to reflect buildings
4) a frame was placed over the cardboard cut-out which the model was holding
5) the finished photograph of the model in front of the landscape was inserted in the picture frame
6) smoke and lens flare were added to create ambiance to portray the mood and the setting of the big city
