Not Waterproof

This was my first attempt at a product shoot in studio ive played around a bit in my lounge room with good results but needed studio gear to get this. I had the idea for a while and received the watch for my 21st birthday a few years before. I bought a small fish tank, some pebbles and fish plants for around $30 then filled the tank and realised the rocks had to be cleaned thoroughly first as it made the water very murky. I tried again and success. I light this by using the biggest Bron soft box we had in the studio and placed it right behind the tank. I cut out a large square and stuck it to the box making it a little smaller than the box but making sure i only saw black through camera. this was to light the splash. Using Broncolour packs I ramped the speed up to as high as I could to assure the splashes would freeze then we started throwing rocks in to get the splash it was all by hand and there were a lot of bad timing mishaps followed by wiping down the tank for the next shot till we got something i has happy with. I got the splash in one shot, Cleaned up a few other splashes shot the watch separately and combined later. A photographer showed me a great technique of blending layers to darken to place the bubbles what seem to be in front of the watch
