Flight

So for this shot, I had to stop my family and inch step by step to within 5 feet of this beautiful animal. My kit 18-55mm lens was all I had and there was no time to adjust any settings on my camera for this kind of shot so to say my heart was racing and I was holding my breath is an understatement. I snapped a few quick shots while he was still just standing at the edge of the water fishing before I finally spooked him and he took off. From there it was a scramble to fire off shot after shot in the hopes that I would get something workable. One of my favorite shots by far, maybe not because of the quality but because of the experience.
