Window into the Lake District

The first weekend of October in the Lake District was always going to be a bit of a risk. I could have been faced with two days of driving sleet. Thankfully I was gifted with a perfect weekend of weather.
This picture sums it up nicely. The air was clear cutting down on haze yet I was gifted with lovely heavy clouds with plenty of gaps letting the bright sunshine though helping to give the landscape definition.

This is the view of Coniston Water from close to the top of The Old Man of Coniston.

I have this printed and framed, hence the title.
