One Rose w/ Hard Directional Light

Continuing my negative space and minimalism exercises... It think this is helping me grasp some basic concepts... I approach it more like a painting than most people would a photograph. Looking at things like where do you want your light to fall and subsequently the shadows, where are they situated in the frame. Then from there you can accentuate that in post production and make something truly panterly vs just another picture of a flower. I'm looking forward to bringing these elements into working with people.

Love this one. I like the colors and the composition with so much negative space a lot. Only the light rays as well the dust seems to be a bit too artificial to me.
