Folly Beach South Carolina Tidal Flat

It is not easy to create a feeling of vastness or desolation along the east coast, especially Folly Beach near Charleston, South Carolina. Over several years of visiting, however, I became familiar with a tidal mud flat that would interact with the Atlantic Ocean during specific tides. I knew that if I could line up all of the conditions well--the tide, the composition, the light, the shutter drag--there was a chance to create something more than perhaps was actually there. I didn't nail it all perfectly, but it sure was fun trying and I'm sure that I'll be back again next year to try all over again!
