Hi Bee, I used to live in Somerset and I regularly used to travel to Devon to visit a National Trust place call Knighthayes near Tiverton. They have a large walled garden there and I spend two summers photographing bees. I am not an expect on bee behaviour, but it appears they are quite sedate in the morning, but they do get frantic as the day wears on.
As for the photograph, need a macro lens to get a decent image of them. Best Wishes. Elan
