The Fire Trees of Þingvellir

This was an example of where planning ahead really paid off. Firstly I wanted to go to one of the more secluded spots I know at Þingvellir away from the tourist trails. I then made sure the weather would likely be ok when we got there. Using the Photopills app I was able to plan where the light would come between some mountains to this location and it just so happened that it hit this small group of trees at exactly the right moment. A really valuable lesson of the benefits of planning your shots.

I would also like to thank landscape photographer Stuart McGlennon who gave me some great advice on the processing of this image.
