View from Mandani Valley, Ransi - Kedarnath trail, Uttarkhand, India
Got out of the tent at 5:00 AM and scouted around for 20 minutes before I chose this location. It's got a nice elevation above the river and the wet reddish brush complemented the colour of the turbulent blueish stream quite well.
The problem was that thick slow moving clouds hid the peak from view when I set up the camera and tripod. So I waited around and hummed some tunes to myself while also silently praying to the Mountain Gods to float the clouds away to the East :-) At around 6:30 AM the clouds finally lifted a bit and revealed the peak and also lit up beautifully.
This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and has to be seen with one's own eyes to feel the emotion, spirituality and drama that this valley can offer.
