My high school classmate went on several space shuttle missions. I could never get to Florida to capture the lift offs. When NASA retired the fleet, I took the red eye train from Boston to Washington DC. I arrived in DC at 07:00 hours, walked ten blocks and boarded the shuttle bus to Dulles International Airport. I then took a cab to the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center museum. People were leaving their vehicles on the highway. I asked the driver to pull over. I put my camera together, exited the cab. As I walked up the ramp to the museum, the shuttle attached to the modified 747 came flying overhead. I captured a few images and waited until it came around again.
