Light Pillars Atmospheric Phenomenon

What a night in London, Ontario, Canada!!! Light pillars south of 43°N! In all my years of photography, I've never seen anything like it.

Light pillars are an atmospheric phenomenon created when tiny ice crystals reflect either natural (sun or moon) or artificial light (such as streetlights). This type of ice crystal is flat and hexagonal in shape, and when they are suspended in the air, together they act like a gigantic mirror, reflecting the light source upwards or downwards.

All of my photos and a full article on the event can be found here: https://yourbreathinme.com/tutorials/ice-crystals-diamond-dust-light-pil...
