Relentless Focus

Buddy is the most focused dog I've ever owned. Although I can't be certain, I believe he's a failed hunting dog (common with hounds). When I first brought him home he squared up with a coyote and was bitten on the tail. He relentlessly scans the horizon and sniffs the air in anticipation of another face-off. I used a small flash and small umbrella to get this shot.

I also Had a hound like this..ours was a beast of a companion. ate anything he found!.. he had a club front foot... they are a cross of beagle-basset and crossed again with a blue tick... Our "Toby" passed away last year...but we miss him despite how much we hated him!

We adopted him last August. Based on looks I'd say he's a Treeing Walker Coonhound. His behaviors lead me to believe he was trained as a hunting dog. He's such a gentle soul in the house and intensely focused outdoors. I'm going to do a DNA test soon out of curiosity.
