Nona Williams of West Philadelphia still uses tokens, but said, "I'm glad that Philadelphia is catching up to the 21st century," about SEPTA switching over to use key cards. "I am enjoying using tokens during the transition because it saves me money to buy them [in bulk]...and us Baby Boomers are used to holding things in our hands and may not switch over to the more digital things so quickly. I'm going to use [token] until I can't use them anymore," Williams said in the Spring Garden subway station Dec. 22, 2017.
