Departing

After my grandmother died in 2003, my grandfather -- who lived about 1000 miles away from us -- would fly in a couple times per year to visit. This photo is the beginning of a series documenting one of his trips to visit us. This photo gives me instantaneous flashbacks to sitting where I was when I took this photo and began this series. For me, out of all of the photos I've taken, the perspective of this photo serves as a powerful reminder of that visit and how much I miss my grandfather today.
