On my last day in Tongariro National Park, I noticed shafts of light streaming through the early morning fog and onto the hills. With the landscape changing rapidly, I rushed to find an unobstructed composition. I stood on the roof of my car and shot this image handheld. I used my telephoto lens at 200mm to compress the layers of the scene.
