I've been working with artists all over Jamaica for the last couple of years now and decided I wanted to do something to document these people. These are the professional tools of sculptor, teacher and artist John Smith at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. The style of the shoot was based on the concept of Knolling, an organisational tool which stemmed from Florence Knoll a designer. The image is meant as a celebration and study of the tools that artists in the Caribbean are using. It is shot on Canon 650D with a Tamron 17-50MM lens using a series of diffused monolights on cartridge paper.
