There is something about a black and white photograph which is just aesthetically very pleasing. I was trekking through the Land’s End trail in San Francisco, when I stumbled upon this point where waves were crashing on a big rock, with the Golden Gate creeping from behind.
Somehow, I realized that this would make for a great black and white shot, as the light was diffused, and there were too many details in the clouds, rock, and the waves.
I composed my image and waited for that one big wave to crash on the rock. Finally, after waiting around five to seven minutes I got that wave, and immediately pressed the shutter and captured the dynamics of that time.
