I wanted this photo to feel like a scene from an Edwardian garden, with all the charm of youth. It was backlit by sun with fill light from a Canon 580EXii through a Westcott rapid box and photographed on a 5Dmkiii with a 70-200 2.8 to take advantage of the compression.

The composition feels Edwardian but the colors don't. Nice photo nonetheless.
You're right, the colors are much more in the romantic era landscape painting category.
