"Night Glow" Lake Tekapo [New Zealand]

Situated on the shores of Lake Tekapo, only metres from the water, it is easy to see why this church captures the heart of so many by day. By night, it becomes the perfect setting for a Milky Way shoot, as it is one of the darkest places on the planet. It is almost as though you can reach out and touch the stars.
.
This is just one of those magical shots. The first time you see the Milky Way over here you almost feel shocked and in disbelief as to what your eyes are seeing. It takes you on a journey through the stars at just how gigantic the universe really is and how small we really are in comparison.
.
Built in 1935, The Church Of Good Shepherd located at Lake Tekapo is the perfect place to capture this phenomenon. We got incredibly lucky with this shot too. After weeks of rain we arrived when the clouds cleared, the wind stopped & the nebula of the Milky Way rose in the perfect spot.
