On Sunday, 12 August, during the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower, I travelled up Carr Canyon's (southeast Arizona) dirt road to try and capture a shooting star.
It was almost midnight with a cloud front moving in from the north and over 100 images later when it finally happened. A magical gift from above, and my only catch of the night.
Patience does indeed pay off.
