Lake Gistova

We left at 5.30 in the morning from Thessaloniki for Grammos and specifically for the village of Grammoustas. After we drank our coffee at Violetta's cafe by telling us many stories about the mountain and giving us plenty of laughter, she assured us that my supercar corsa :) will manage to reach the hut that was 7 km away, near the dragonlake Gistova at 2000m.

So it happened after two hours! We are only a few miles away from the lake! The shepherd from the hut woke up so that the smugglers did not grab us and showed us the path to the lake.

Having the 30 kg photographic equipment to my back :( all I wanted was to get to the lake!

Before the top, we met a flock from Albania. The man called Nick ran over us to protect us from the dogs and we continued to the lake!

Few meters more i whispered to myself while i was thinking the night and try to avoid the anxiety if the conditions will be good.

The lake appeared! No words to describe it .. We are at 2350m, on the highest alpine lake of Greece. Opposite Tsouka Petsik welcomes us from 2520m!

A wonderful overnight stay with very much moisture which may not make me happy for the timelapse I was planning but gave me beautiful moments and a few clicks to remember them!

See you again!
