I've always been a fan of moody, cinematic lighting in photography. The painters of Renaissance were masters of this on another medium. They created depth and contrast with one of their four main techniques called chiaroscuro.
This week, I had the chance to test this theory out in studio. I invited the elegant Cecilia over, and we worked on poses and lighting for a couple of hours. This is the first out of four photos that we ended up with.
