Reposted. Started over to achieve better color balance. Any tips on how to improve would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

The composition is off. You're cutting off the colourful tree, which is one of the best features in favor of featureless water.

The processing itself is wonderful, no problems there.

Also, and this is a nitpick, that's not a Pagoda (at least not by any definition I know), it appears to be a small shrine. But I could be wrong, based on the country in which this was taken.

Thanks Jordan! I totally agree with you on the composition. This was actually taken after sundown and I didn't have a way to take a longer exposure to try and capture something interesting in the boring sky that night. I thought the water would be more interesting. I guess I'll never know. I certainly could have moved framing up and captured the entire tree.

This was also a photo from a timed competition with parameters that I do with a buddy so I didn't have extra time to play around. However I 100% agree with your comment.

Thanks for the processing praise. I tend to beat myself up in that regard and your comment helps immensely.

Cheers!

Don't beat yourself up too much. Every photo we take is a learning experience. I've definitely not been able to get the shot I wanted due to time constraints.

Also...Switching to shrine. Consider myself educated. This was spread among a scattering of pagodas in the area.
