Beyond the Blue Void’ is Sirio’s first oil-based self-portrait (the 2nd version is a digital print photography). While his face is cracked, bits of gold are used to ‘repair' his portrait, as the Japanese tradition of repairing with gold, Kintsugi, suggests that the medium becomes more valuable. Many patterns related to the early Albanian gold embroidered folkloric dresses can be observed, making in this way a link to his culture and it’s importance to self-identity. In this way, different from Blue Void, the golden cracks symbolize light. Created by Sirio Berati (@sirio)
