For several decades, this cool, futuristic building housed a Western Savings Bank at Metro Center mall in west Phoenix. Now, with interior remodeling, the circular, vintage 1977 bank building has been transformed into a current-day Souper Salad restaurant.
This fabulous, concrete Expressionist style building, with its bold "crown roast" effect rising up into the sky from the roof, was designed by legendary Peruvian-born architect and engineer W. A. Sarmiento.
