I went on a scouting trip at the start of January where I found this composition that worked really well for a panoramic crop, but it was too busy and cluttered in the background to my taste. I decided to revisit the location during a foggy morning in the future and because this is near Portland I knew that I shouldn't have to wait too long. Less than a month later, during a dense fog advisory, I shot this image! The conditions were just right and made for a very productive photography day in the forest.
