My Grandfather passed away on the 27th of January, just one month before reacing the age of 92. Ever since I was born I loved him with all my heart. I always admired him for his wonderful mind, wisdom and kindness. Growing up as the 4th child of a very poor family he had to work hard on the fields since he was 11. But over the years with persistent diligence and much struggle he raised up from poverty. He became an agricultural scientist focusing on wheat breeding and was awarded so many times for his scientific achievments.. He earned the academic doctoral degree of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. But above all, he was my loving grandfather. He always teached us about the respect and love of family and the land. No words to express my pain. I'll always remember his words and will try to do my best to teach my child everything I learnt from him.
He was laid to rest on this Friday. A garland of 91 roses is lying on his grave.
A couple of days ago I asked Victor Fakeye - on a very short shooting- to become the "face of my pain". I'm so thankful for him for understanding my feelings with such symphathy. The following portraits are the projection of my soul.
