When a bowl is broken in Japan its put back together with cracks filled with gold creating a beautiful lining. This is the emphasis of beauty in what was once broken.
They believe when something has suffered damage and has a history it makes it even more beautiful and the same goes for human beings. It's up to us to choose to paint our struggles with gold and make it beautiful.
The Japanese art of Kintsugi teaches that broken objects are not something to hide but to display with pride.
Awesomely cool and unique portrait work. Grea photography!
