Our buddy had a near-death experience this weekend on a glacier. And we just laughed. It started with a slip, then an accelerating slide. Within 7 seconds, he was propelled out of sight off a 30 foot cliff into a rock bed. Yet we kept giggling- a coping mechanism. It's all a joke, right? Then it slowly hits us. Absolute dread dribbles into our minds as we scramble helplessly to see his fate. He's in shock- scrunched in a ball not sure what just happened. Covered in bruises and blood. But alive. We took this photo on a nearby mountain later that day. (He still climbed it!)⁣
