There are approximately five and a half million vending machines in Japan, or roughly one for every 23 people. On my recent trip over in the land of the rising sun, I photographed many of these colorful ubiquitous monoliths during my walks around Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto.
Presented here in a collage, here are a handful of those images carefully composited to create a unique take on these iconic symbols of modern Japanese society.

Wonderful work. I must walk past a dozen or so of these things on an average day, and I've never thought of them as "art". I'll look at them a little differently now!
