Last March me and my wife explored one of the ancient pilgrimage routes in Kii Peninsula. We started our nature hike from Daimon-Zaka, a gorgeous 600m long cobblestone staircase slope lined with massive evergreens and ends at Kumano Nachi Taisha, one of the three grand shrines of Kumano Kodo. The 5 hour hike rewarded us with a stunning view Sanjudo pagoda overlooking the tallest waterfall in Japan, Nachi falls.
The heart of Kii
