Back in 2010, I was taking a photo class. They required we take a self portrait, and this is what I ended up capturing.
My house faces West, so one side is always hit with direct sunlight. This was photographed around 9:30am in the morning, using the sunlight through my kitchen window as the light source.
I wanted things to be well lit, but not too harsh, so I kept the curtains closed. This diffused the light perfectly and gave me the look I wanted.
The BW is my own conversion in Photoshop, designed to be BW, but still let you envision/see the color.
