I've been to this waterfall four time now and finally got the fabled spray rays. As far as I can tell the circumstances needed to get them are quite specific here. The waterfall is located in a narrow valley, which means the sun only comes in at the right angle during a short part of the year.
To get the effect I wanted in the final image, I had to use two different exposures with slightly different shutter speeds. One for the silky water, and one for the spray rays, which required a slightly faster shutter speed to capture.
Rays shot at 1/15s and everything else at 1/6s.
