Untouched image of a kid, looking for critique on lighting, composition etc.

Composition: too much of nothing. There is nothing interesting on the ground or background to have all that showing. Get closer to the subject to fill the frame with the subject. I would even get the subject far away from the wall and use a more open aperture. The face looks blurry.

Thanks David. I was going for a portrait at this civil war site in Charleston. That wall is made of coral and seashells mostly and was the original fort wall. Do you think I should have shot down the wall maybe. I completely see what you are saying, it doesn't say that is a historical wall so How would you incorporate something like that in.

I would probably put the subject very close to the wall, then shoot from the side at a 20 to 35 degree angle. Probably do at least 5.6 to show the texture of the wall. I wouldnt do a whole body photo.
