I had been waiting for the sunset all day crowded around other photographers near the pier for the iconic sunset in down town Huntington Beach, California. Then as soon as the sun sank beneath the horizon everyone left thinking the show they had come to see was over. Little did they know, that night the tide would pull back into the ocean in tiny rivulets reflecting the lights from the pier as they turned on for the night. Just as the blue and orange hues of the sinking sun started to dissipate into the night sky I caught the perfect long exposure and it all came together perfectly.
