I spent this past summer on a 45 day sea kayaking expedition in the Inside Passage of Alaska. We started in Juneau and paddled 550 miles in a loop back to Juneau. Half way through the trip the salmon started to run in the rivers and catching them became a regular practice. It helped us save our food provisions and tasted incredible. This is our trip leader filleting two dog salmon that took him probably a minute to catch. We cooked it on a piece of slate resting over a fire.
