Don't use the Clarity/Detail feature for skin softening.
You are taking away detail that should've been there.
For example the eye looks like it is way out of focus, while in a portrait the eye is a key element, and having it sharp is a must.

There are several methods for skin softening such as the "Frequency Separation" technique which only affects the areas you choose, not the whole image.
