Taken from the Fire Lookout atop Mount Fremont while attempting to photograph the galactic core rising above Mt. Rainier. The clouds began to obscure the view so I turned the camera around. A cloud inversion blotted out all views of the ground below and diffused the surrounding light like a softbox. With a new moon, it was a bit of a distraction. Despite this, I decided to use it to capture a silhouette of the lookout tower, including the Big Dipper in the shot before high clouds obscured it.
