The Emergence

I raise Monarch Butterflies when I have the chance, and this is one of my last ones for the Summer. If you look towards the center, you can see cracks starting to emerge, as the butterfly is ready to break free from its home. This was taken minutes before emerging.

Alberto, I’ve loved this image ever since I saw it a couple of weeks ago and lost track of the opened tab before I could vote or comment on it. And I’v been looking for it since. Then today I came upon an image titled “Fresh Chrysalis” and thought it was another of the Monarch breeder/farmer/conservationist or what ever you call this part of yourself … neat sideline by the way.

And it lead me to your image “Emergence”. Both these images are equally “Stunning” and made with attentiveness for the image(s) but the subject too. The detail in both is phenomenal especially “Fresh Chrysalis” through the translucent green of the chrysalis. Exposures are both right on especially I’m presuming both had a glossy surface to them.

PBS Nature caliber image(s)! Were either of them cropped in post or are they formatted square in camera and also one of your other chrysalis images you comment it was a result of 25 frames you had stacked, were these ? Great work keep going.
