A shot of the Sunrise over Lower Manhattan from the shores of Jersey City over the Hudson River. Whilst travelling to the area for work I was able to grab this shot using an old Nikon D3400 and Nikkor F1.8 35mm lens; this equipment is very entry level and to get this shot proves the equipment isn't the limiting factor. The shot settings were SS 1/1000, F1.8 and ISO 100 with auto white balance; edited using Adobe Lightroom.
Picking a shot along the shoreline to allow the capture of the sun in a relatively low placement and keeping the striking structures of Lower Manhattan including the World Trade Centre was key. The image also shows the contrast between the warmth of the sun and cold of the glass buildings.
