Black Swallowtail

Earlier this summer I stepped out to water our potted plants and was surprised to find a black swallowtail caterpillar in our parsley plant. After reading that they generally fall victim to predators I brought it inside and we managed to care for it until it became a butterfly. This is that butterfly.
