Les Bécanes du plateau

Loosely translated Bécanes means bicycle. That day i had a few hours to kill between 2 meetings so i decided to take a walk in the Plateau neighbourhood just north of downtown Montreal. I wanted to do some street shooting but after a few minutes i found myself struggling not getting bicycles in my composition or getting hit by a cyclist riding on the sidewalk. Then i decided to stop avoiding them and get them in my shots as my main subject. Since the gentrification of this part of town and the blooming real estate market trafic is just a mess and everybody living there go about their daily businesses on their bikes. So this venture ended up more as a lifestyle shooting than a street one.
